MPAX Titanium Self-Tapping Screws

No pre-tapped hole needed. It cuts its own thread as it goes in.

MPAX titanium self-tapping screws are precision-machined from Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy bar stock, designed for sheet metal connections, plastic assemblies, electronic device housing fastening, and various applications where pre-tapping is impractical or costly.

Why self-tapping screws?

Standard screws require pre-tapped holes before installation. Self-tapping screws eliminate this step – they cut or form matching threads as they are driven in. One less process, one less tool, faster assembly.

For thin sheets, profiles, and plastic housings where tapping is difficult or expensive, self-tapping screws are the most efficient solution.

Material & Performance

Tensile strength is consistently tested at 950–1000 MPa – hard enough to cut clean threads, tough enough not to snap. At equivalent strength, titanium is 43% lighter than steel. And titanium does not rust or corrode – meaning in outdoor equipment, marine interiors, chemical facilities, and other corrosive environments, self-tapping screws won't seize or fail due to rust.

Every shipment includes complete Material Test Certificates (MTC).

Thread Profile

The thread design of self-tapping screws differs from standard threads – featuring sharp thread profiles and specific lead-in angles that enable thread forming during installation. Various thread profiles are available for different base materials including sheet metal, plastic, and wood.

Point Types

Cone Point – standard self-tapping, suitable for sheet metal and plastic

Flat Point – suitable for thin-walled parts where penetration must be avoided

Drill Point – built-in drill tip for drilling and tapping in one operation, suitable for thicker sections
